I'm a 30-year-old female living in Ontario, Canada, and I've had the moniker of "Jamieson" since I was a first-year high school student, and it's been my online username ever since. I'm an archaeologist working for a private consulting firm in Ontario - while I enjoy working close to home, my passion (and my Master's degree) lies in Mesoamerican archaeology, and I've worked on sites in Belize and Nicaragua, the latter being my main area of interest (great country, really friendly, and very cheap to visit). I've also had the opportunity to do some work on a site on Crete, which is actually how this site got its name.
So...why "the cardboard experience?" Good question, somewhat ridiculous answer. While working on Crete back in 2006, my fellow students and I were bantering back and forth, and somehow the words "cardboard experience" were randomly tossed out (I honestly can't remember in what context), and I made a joke about it being a great name for a band. Shortly thereafter, though, I decided, rather seriously, that it would be the name for my vidding website when I finally got around to it. Why? No frakkin' clue. Relevance? None whatsoever...which I think makes it the perfect name. Of course, it took me over six years to put that thought into action, but in the end I finally managed to make a rather small and insignificant joke a reality.
The majority of my vidding took place while I was in university, where I was an excellent proponent of procrastination...funny enough, it was around the time I was finishing up school, when I no longer had much cause to procrastinate, that I began my years-long hiatus from vidding. Coincidence?
Other interests I have include reading, writing, Tae Kwon Do (I hold a 3rd Dan black belt), and scuba diving. While I enjoy all kinds of diving, my biggest passion is cavern diving, especially the cenotes in the Yucatan (as you can see from the odd photos scattered about the site). As the fandoms that I've made vids for would suggest, I'm a big scifi and fantasy geek, and I'm always looking for a new obsession to take over.
