Spoilers: The Peacekeeper Wars Miniseries
Awards (original 2006 version):
One of the winners of the 2006 Farscape Burbank Convention Music Video Contest
This is a "revamped" version of my original "Peacekeeper Wars Trailer" music video made way back in 2006, which was the first of many Farscape music vids I would go on to make. The original video won 2nd place in the 2006 "Shelly Awards" for Farscape fanvids in both the "1812" (Instrumental) and "Have I Got Your Attention Now?" (Advert/Recruitment) categories, and was also one of the winners of Creation Entertainment's 2006 Farscape Burbank Convention Music Video Contest.
The goal of the original video was to make a theatrical-style trailer for the miniseries - back then the final product exceeded all of my expectations and it has remained a top favourite of mine, holding up years later against videos made with greater experience and better resources. True story, after I told a friend that I was planning to revisit this video, she demanded (rather indignantly) why I would want to mess with it (translation: "don't mess with it!"). However, unlike some of my other revamps of older videos that ultimately turned into major overhauls (at least one could be considered a thorough gutting), the main purpose for revisiting this Farscape video 14 years later was a massive overall quality upgrade - with very few exceptions (all minor and most planned years ago), this video is nearly identical to the original.
The most noticeable difference, beyond the higher-quality images, is an improvement on the audio. There were parts of the original where it was difficult to hear the voice-overs above the music, but this time around, armed with better resources and knowledge - I've done my amateur best to fix that up...it isn't perfect but it's way better than before, so I'll take it :-)
Enjoy!
