Previously, on Stargate SG-1....
July 2014 (Original Version April 2006)
Music: "Fahrenheit" by Immediate Music (mash-up of choral and orchestral versions)
Spoilers: All 214 episodes, Ark of Truth, and Continuum...in order!
The original 2006 version of this video was made when it was announced that Stargate SG-1 was going to embark on a record-breaking 10th season and was a tribute to the first nine seasons, featuring clips from each episode in order. This original version won 1st place in the "Action" category of the fan-run 2006 Stargate Music Video Awards. I always meant to go back and update the video once the series had ended, and upon deciding to attend the "last" Creation Stargate convention in August 2014 (the masses spoke and they will continue in 2015), I realized it was about damned time!
The "revamped" video features nearly all of the same clips from the original, although I did change up a few of them...and I'm also somewhat embarrassed to admit that I actually missed the odd episode here and there in the original version. Whoops! I also followed the IMDB air date list when I created the original, which in some cases was not necessarily the same as the DVD order. I decided to go with the DVDs this time around as that is how they were intended. Overall the first nine seasons are very close to the original, but not quite (I've kept the original online for nostalgic purposes, it can be viewed here).
Adding in the 10th season and movies was a bit more difficult - no only did I have to once again choose a couple tiny clips to represent an entire episode, but the two versions of the music used in this video were too short for the original version in the first place and had required some cutting, pasting, and general mixing, and I somehow had to eek out another half minute for the revamped version. It worked in the end, though, and I am very happy with the result - I hope you are, too!
I'm also happy to announce that this video was one of the winners of the 2014 convention contest and was shown right before Michael Shanks' panel. The convention host announced that it was one of their favourite entries.
But enough of that, on to the vid. As always, I'd love to hear what you think. Enjoy!
Note - playback is nice and smooth in most browsers, but can be a bit tetchy and rough in Internet Explorer.
